Review of COVID-19 Management Guidelines

The COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected many countries across the globe both socially and economically continues to be a major concern healthcare system. majority of patient groups that were elderly patients with existing co-morbidities such as diabetes; hypertension; cardiovascular disease; lung, liver, kidney cancer on chemotherapy; smokers; transplant recipients; taking steroids etc. who highly vulnerable susceptible infection. Various protective measures quarantine from confirmed suspected cases, nationwide lockdowns, etc., have been implemented in all contain spread virus. Efforts also made develop effective therapeutic strategies stop disease minimize its high rates morbidity mortality especially considering rapid evolution virus giving rise different variants. A systematic review various guidelines published by well-known organizations Indian Council Medical Research (ICMR) Ministry Health (MoH) India International Infectious Diseases Society America (IDSA), National Institute (NIH), World Organization (WHO), for management COVID-19, was performed side-by-side comparison important aspects these is presented this article. results showed that, despite minor differences terminology used severity classification, SpO2 levels, period, criteria classification mostly similar pertaining clinical signs symptoms diagnosis testing criteria, preliminary advice, risk factors, isolation, methods prevention – home quarantine, use face mask, social distancing, While noted mainly and/or treatment recommendations. Overall, besides limitations, discussed article can still serve an tool workers caregivers providing adequate guidance right at time.
